Iceland was the first place I’ve ever been to outside of Canada & the US. I’ve dreamed of going for years now, and my expectations were high. We spent four days there and it was better than I had even imagined; it’s a photographer’s dream. As you travel around the island on Ring Road, every corner you turn holds another magnificent view. It doesn’t get dark until well after midnight, which makes for several hours of golden twilight. We rented a camper van and enjoyed the outdoors as much as possible. Our highlights were the Thakgil campground (nestled in the mountains after a harrowing 45-drive off the beaten path), the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, and the oh-so-cozy natural hot springs near Hveragerði. I hope these photos capture just a bit of this land of sprawling beauty.
